From My Heart To you

PUGGIE 12/5/90 ~ 5/28/04

Our baby is gone
To heaven above
To be with our Lord
And show Him her love

He sent us a puppy
Many years ago
To bring joy to our lives
WE loved this puppy so

But a tiny one
She was way back then
With a heart full of gold
For us to care for and tend

We had our hard times
Operations she had
For a bladder problem
That wouldn't go away

Then all seemed real good
And her health did improve
And we romped and we played
All night and all day

We bought her a stuffed bear
And that she would shake
So hard and so long
We thought her neck it would break

And then all the toys
That this little one had
She would play with them all
Till the squeakers she had

She loved the outdoors
Walking round in the grass
Smelling the flowers
Till the bees chased her back

Her favorite place
Was where ever we were
Unconditional love
So sweet and so pure

She would lay at your feet
Or sit on your lap
She just wanted our love
And for that didn't lack

She was our baby
sent from heaven above
And we raised her
The best that we could

But then she got real sick
To the vets we did rush
Her sugar was sky high
So medicine she took

Then came the lump
Just under her chest
And we rushed her back
And the vets took a look

They ran all their test
And said Cancer she had
Stage two it was at
And the decision was made

They thought it was gone
After the operation she had
But then it came back
With more lumps and so big

So we tried one more time
For our baby to help
Another operation
She did have to have

But more kept on coming
And so many there were
The vet said "I'm sorry"
Nothing more can we do

So we brought her on home
And took it week by week
And watched her go slowly
Until the last week

We knew time was close
When our baby we'd lose
Our hearts grew so heavy
And our sadness showed

The last night I lay down
On the floor where she was
And whispered to her
Of heaven above

Of gardens of beauty
And meadows of green
Where she could be happy
And no sickness again

I told her I loved her
And said it's okay
To leave mommy and daddy
Go to heaven and wait

So I left her in peace
Laying on the floor sound asleep
And with a heart that was breaking
And the tears still flow yet

I went into bed
And prayed and I cried
Please Lord take our baby
For she is hurting hard

Then in the morning
When Ed woke for work
He came and got me
For our Puggie was gone

She passed on to heaven
As we both slept
And now stands with Jesus
And God at their feet

Watching down over us
And sending her love
By a puppy named Cortney
Sent from heaven above

She said take care of her
Love her just like me
And someday we'll be together
You just wait and see

I'm happy here now
All my pain is gone
I can run and play
With the others above

I'm not old and sick
I'm young and free
And waiting at Rainbow Bridge
Till you can join me

Then we'll romp and we'll play
After much hugging and kisses
From your baby in heaven
Who I know you do miss

We love you Puggie and miss you so much!
Till we meet again.
Love Mommy and Daddy

Midi ~ A Love So Beautiful ~

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
