Through The Eyes Of My Dog

I'm a dog, a Toy Poodle you see
And all the other dogs
Are much bigger than me.

When my master takes me out
For a walk everyday
Nothing but big bad dogs
Seem to pass our way.

I wiggle my little powder puff tail
And bark a happy "Hello"
But they all look so mean at me
And growl ever so low.

I don't dare to carry a bone
Or a toy with me
For they take them away
And down the road they flee.

Sometimes I wish I could be a big dog
So I could have them for a friend.
To run and romp and play with
Until the long day ends.

Then one day I saw some dogs
They were shivering wet and cold
They were huddled all together
And not one seemed so very bold.

I heard one dog say, "I wish I had a home
To go to and someone to dry my hair
I'd be ever oh so happy
If I had someone who to care."

I looked up to my master and saw
The love in her eyes that shone
I stopped right there and licked her hand
As we hurried towards home.

I now don't feel envy for those big dogs
That we passed on our daily walk
For they all say hello to me
In our own doggie talk.

I gave them all a bone a piece
And a ball to roll around
For my master took them home with us
To keep them from the pound.
